School's very boring man. But today we had Agrotechnology practical (something on plants), and we - namely me D FW - washed the Green Wonder.. That's the huge water/nutrient container in which we submerge plants in the Nutrient Film Technique (??)
Okay la, I don't understand what all these techniques are, anymore than non-science students do..
On the way back home from the MRT station today, I bought a sweet corn ice cream from the ice cream uncle. Let's call him Lao Uncle. He's very poor thing, I see him there almost everyday, at the same location. When he's not at that location, he's just like 10 metres away.. vying with another - younger, albeit more friendly - ice cream uncle. So of course more people buy from the younger ice cream uncle.
And the human traffic at that area that Lao Uncle works at, is very low. On top of that, fewer of the people who pass him by actually buy from him. So even if he charges $10/ice cream, it wouldn't make any difference to him. I mean, what can $10 do in Singapore nowadays? Much less that measly $1 he gets for every ice cream he sells? And that is not the profit. Counting the ice cream, those wafer biscuits and the piece of plastic he provides with each ice cream - he makes a profit of only around $0.60/ice cream?? Very little lei.
I bought from him today only because I was feeling thirsty.. And tired and in a bad mood cos of stress.. So too lazy to go Mac's.. I prefer the MacDonald's Oreo McFlurry (really, I have a super soft spot for it =X) Maybe to make life easier for him I should pay $2. But wah lau, only ice cream lei. And not as nice as McFlurry also.
I pity him la, every single day for every single year of his remaining life he spends rotting away under his umbrella, in the hot sun, waiting for people to buy things from him. Another reason why people don't buy ice cream from him is because he's really really really super slow. Man man tun tun wear his plastic gloves, man man tun tun take out the ice cream, man man tun tun cut ice cream, man man tun tun take biscuit and put on both sides of ice cream, and man man tun tun hand over the ice cream! Old liao la.. And most likely depressed. See his face everyday like that.
Aiyoh. We have life so easy. At least even if school sucks, we still have graduation to look forward to, as least we know the amount of time left for us to suffer. If work sucks, we can always hold out for a little longer for that f-ing bonus that won't come fast enough! and then quit cos we already have the qualifications to find another job. (i'm not in this category hor) That Lao Uncle doesn't know how long more he must suffer.
My place has so many buskers, tissue-sellers, ice cream uncles.. That I just have to avert my eyes everytime I see them if I dont want to buy anything. Sad state la. Singapore's so affluent, yet we still have so many poor people. Just like HongKong, Korea etc.. And I gripe about not having pocket money for a week =X i'm spoilt.
Am a girl who generally acts nice in public, but inside her head, she probably thinks you're a waste of life. And that's why she's quiet.
